After you pray over the projects you’ve poured your heart and soul into all week, you’ll have the opportunity to spend a few hours relaxing and celebrating all God has done during the mission trip.
Where the Colorado river meets the Gulf of Mexico will be your destination. Enjoy a ride through Matagorda County and its numerous cotton fields, bluebonnets (the state flower) as far as the eye can see, and pastures with Texas Longhorn cattle grazing.
As you approach the coast you’ll drive through a fishing village with local seafood restaurants, shops, and river houses. You’ll soon arrive at picturesque Matagorda County beach.
Your group will have a few hours to swim in the surf, stroll along the sandy beach, search for seashells, walk out to the end of a long pier, or visit the nature center. God’s creation never ceases to amaze and these few hours of group bonding and growing deeper in love with His creation will be just what is needed on your last day of the mission trip.
After leaving the beach you’ll have a last meal together eating a Texas tradition. BBQ.
The BBQ will be served buffet style offering tastes of ribs, chicken, and sausage. In addition, you’ll have the choice of baked beans and coleslaw and a variety of other fixins. You’ll share stories of people you’ve encountered throughout the week, ways in which you’ve seen God move, and projects completed.
The evening will conclude with a time of worship, prayer, and sharing of highlights.
