
Assistant Trip Leaders
Alaska
Description:
Each ATL in Alaska will be an integral member of our 2-3 person leadership teams as we host churches from North America each week in and around Anchorage, the Mat-Su Valley, or the Kenai Peninsula. We will be staying with the participating teams and will provide each of them with an average of a week-long mission trip in Alaska. Responsibilities will include managing ministry opportunities, ministry sites, restaurants, recreation, lodging, and transportation. Other responsibilities might include assisting the cook with meals and snacks, leading worship and debriefing, participating in and leading meetings, and generally guiding each church’s trip. Our goal is to use each staff member’s strengths and interests to best serve the churches and groups we serve.
Benefits:
- Salary of $400-$800 per trip.
- Paid round-trip airfare, lodging, meals, and ministry materials. ($8,000 value)
- Opportunity to serve the people of Alaska.
- Incredible recreation opportunities in exciting locations. Examples include visiting Alaskan glaciers and Wildlife Conservation Center. ($500 value)

Requirements:
- Applicants are required to be a devoted Christian who believes in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and believes that the Bible is the inspired, infallible word of God.
- Short-term missions experience is required.
- Candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree or be 23+ years old.
- Local ministry experience within your community, church, or school is necessary.
- Applicants should be selfless, ministry minded, hard working, energetic, reliable, flexible, enjoy working with people, and need to be a team player.
- Candidates must be available to work in Alaska from May 15 to June 1, 2023 (Summer A) and/or from June 1 to August 15, 2023 (Summer B).
- All staff members will be required to participate in Staff Training prior to leading trips. Summer A Staff Training will take place mid-May. Summer B Staff Training will take place in the beginning of June.

Responsibilities will include managing ministry opportunities, ministry sites, restaurants, recreation, lodging, and transportation. Other responsibilities might include assisting the cook with meals and snacks, leading worship and debriefing, participating in and leading meetings, and generally guiding each church’s trip. Our goal is to use each staff member’s strengths and interests to best serve the churches and groups we serve.

Summer Interns

We will be staying with the participating teams and will provide each of them with an average of a week-long mission trip in Alaska, Appalachia, or Puerto Rico. Responsibilities will include managing ministry opportunities, ministry sites, restaurants, recreation, lodging and transportation. Other responsibilities might include assisting the cook with meals and snacks, leading worship and debriefing, participating in and leading meetings, and generally guiding each church’s trip. Our goal is to use each staff member’s strengths and interests to best serve the churches and groups. Expect to serve on 5-6 week long mission trips throughout the summer.
Pay and Benefits:
- First two trips unpaid, at the discretion of the location Director following trips paid $400 as ATL
- Paid round-trip airfare, lodging, meals, and ministry materials. ($8,000 value)
- Opportunity to serve the people of Alaska, Appalachia or Puerto Rico.

Responsibilities will include planning a meal menu with the trip leader, purchasing food and supplies, preparing and cooking meals, cleaning up after meals with the help of 1-2 volunteers from the team, and keeping a list of total food/supply expenses purchased for each trip. Cooks will be provided with a preloaded card to buy food, a pre-approved list of menu options to be used for meal planning, and additional resources such as recipes and substitution options for dietary restrictions.
Benefits:
- Salary is determined by the following pay structure:
- Teams of 4-9: $20/meal
- Teams of 10-29: $35/meal
- Teams of 30-49: $50/meal
- Teams of 50+: $65/meal
- Reimbursement for gas used for purchasing food.
- Opportunity to serve with mission teams in impactful ministry to the local community.
- Incredible recreation opportunities in exciting locations.
