Hurricane Earl Relief Teams Needed! Go Before Labor Day!

earl image on BelizeHurricane Earl made landfall in Belize early Thursday, with maximum sustained winds of 80 mph. The Category 1 storm continued to pound the area with strong winds, heavy rain, and storm surge after spreading drenching rain over the Central American country Wednesday night.
That is CNN’s description of Hurricane Earl’s landfall in Belize. Our staff, pastors, and other Belizean contacts have told us of homes destroyed, roofs ripped off, many downed trees, and lots of flooding. Many of the affected families don’t have the money to properly repair or rebuild their homes.

Thirst Missions wants to send a few emergency teams to Belize to help with disaster relief. These would be teams of 8 or more. You can stay as long or as short as you would like, and the hotel stay trip will be offered at a steep discount of only $100/day per person. Teams will be dispatched to the areas most in need of help.

To register for a relief trip, use this link and type “Hurricane Earl” in the promo code section. Obviously, time is of the essence here!

If you can’t pull a team together that fast but are planning to go in 2017, for teams that register in August Thirst Missions will contribute $500 in construction money to be used for hurricane relief. Our hope is that teams all across Belize will be able to help less fortunate families repair their homes and fortify them against future tropical storms.
If you’d like to take advantage of this offer type “Earl2017” in the promo code box when you register here.

Stay up to date on all the latest happenings in Belize on our Facebook page. And please, please stay in prayer for the people of Belize. As far as we know now, all Thirst Missions staff and families are safe and accounted for, but please keep Caye Caulker, San Pedro, Ladyville, Belize City, and many remote villages in your prayers as they undertake the cleanup and rebuilding process.
