WHY SERVE IN ALASKA?
Although the scenery of Alaska displays some of the most beautiful examples of God’s creation, Alaskans are also surrounded by many challenges; alcoholism, drug addiction, suicide, and domestic violence to name just a few. And the harshness of the winter does not make anything easier. Half of the entire population lives in Anchorage and only roughly 3% of that population is Christian. As Jesus said in Matthew 9:37: “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few…”
