Summer Highlights and Prayer Requests: England

By Ashley Binneboese, Director of Administration, Director of England Operations

In a couple of weeks our staff will head to England to finish up the final preparations and welcome our first summer teams! Everyone is hard at work preparing for the ministries, outreach events, and VBS (Kids Club) that will be happening. Our highlight is the new relationships that are being formed between the US and England churches.

The VBS will center around the theme of superheros and share with the children how Jesus is our superhero.  There will be lots of fun had with games, crafts, dramas, a trip to the seaside, a BBQ, carnival, and more!  Other ministries we will take part in include ministering alongside an organization who works with the homeless or rough sleepers.  One of our teams will also get to take part in English classes for refugees; time to learn with and from one another!

We are excited to bring teams in to partner with the local churches as they speak truth and love to the people of London. Please pray that we will be ready and willing to talk with people that want to ask questions and hear about Jesus Christ.

England ProfileHere are ways you can lift up our ministry in England in prayer:

  • Wisdom as we pull together the final logistics for our summer teams.
  • Our church partner, Cross Street, as they have a need for an intern to help with their youth program.
  • Our church partner, New River, as they prepare for VBS with their partner team.
  • US/Canadian teams to choose to work in London in 2018. We have wonderful churches waiting for a partner.
  • That God would prepare people for conversations about Jesus Christ and give team members the grace to step out in faith when meeting new people.

I am interested in possibly going on the London missions trip. If I go on this missions trip, can I stay longer at my own expense to do some sightseeing in the London area?

Hi Mary! Yes, you can definitely stay longer at your own expense as you mentioned. Someone from Thirst will reach out to you with more information today. We’re excited for your interest and thanks for reading!
