Summer Highlights and Prayer Requests: Belize

By Ashley Binneboese, Director of Administration, Director of England Operations

We are a little over a month into our summer mission trips in Belize. Thank you to those who have been lifting us up in prayer, please continue to pray for Thirst Missions, our staff, our teams, and our church partners down in Belize.

The most obvious highlight is the number of people who have made first time decisions for Christ! Every hard day is worth it when you realize that another person is choosing to follow Jesus Christ. Another highlight is the way that our staff are supporting each other. Many have stepped in to help as different situations arise, even stepping in to provide additional support to our partner churches – it has been a beautiful and encouraging thing to see.

Our teams have been busy all over Belize doing Kingdom work and we are excited for that.  Some of many ministries happening so far include: constructing church bathrooms and other parts of churches, outreach nights, school ministry/tutoring, home visits, prayer, and of course VBS!

The weather in Belize continues to be hot and humid but our teams are doing a wonderful job continuing to work hard. After a couple of quiet days we’ll have a lot of teams all over Belize again and we are blessed to be a part of the ministry.

Here are ways you can lift our ministry in Belize up in prayer:

  • Staff members as they approach the middle of the summer, that they will grow in their faith and find time to rest.
  • Our intern, that her relationships in Belize will continue to grow and that she will have the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of Belize.
  • US/Canadian teams to choose to sign up to serve in 2018.
  • US/Canadian teams as they finish final preparations. Prayers for safe travel.
  • That God would continue to soften hearts and prepare the way for teams to share the good news of Jesus Christ.
  • That the teams can help the churches in Belize as they try to reach more of the men in their villages.
